Scenes from My Weekend

1. Sun! Rain/sleet/snow/sideways-pellet-things for the last 12 days. Sun!!!
2. Moggers enjoying said sun.
3. Hunting for new recipes.
4. Mo & I ventured to the place of all things magical and organizational.
5. After a successful Swedish conquest, we took on the Italians. Yeah, we ate at Olive Garden. Not ashamed in the least.
6. Getting back on track. Smoothie and lesson planning.
7. Did I mention the sun? Simandl spent most of Sunday perched in prime basking locations.

New Series: Fancy That Fridays

This week I am starting another series: Fancy That Fridays. Each Friday I will post a round-up of things from the interwebs that just tickled me so. Enjoy!

I am presently fancying:

this tote bag. Mmmm...polka dots.

this dress. Coral + stripes = yes, please.

these shoes. Granny chic. That's a thing, right?

this tea towel. Seriously thinking about purchasing one of these. Too cute to use, but certainly a textile worthy of hanging on the wall.

these cookies. Yes, they are labeled as holiday cookies, but chocolate, orange & rosemary are year-round in my opinion.

this print by Kirra Jamison via sfgirlbybay.com. I just started exploring Ms. Jamison's artist page. It is brimming with brilliant imagery.

this jam. This tune has regular rotation on my running playlist. The new video? Fur hats, pirate ships, huskies, a tuba, and a living room pulled by a pick-up truck. What more could a girl want?

What have you been fancying lately?

Scenes From My Weekend

1. Zinefest with Mo.
2. Surfing and snuggles
3. Signs of spring. Finally!
4. Escape! Someone wanted to go to the market, or just tear ass around the hallways. Whichever.
5. The last 6 days were windy, cold and rainy/snowy. Took advantage that the weather pushed forty and went sans socks to run errands. Another sign of spring- asparagus in my grocery bag! Nomnoms.
6. Alliteration in the kitchen: quiche, corn muffins & cuban black bean stew (not pictured).

Mogget!

This weekend I traveled to Illinois to attend the  Midwest Zine Festival. Not only was it my first time attending a festival like this, I also took the plunge and debuted my first book making project: a small accordion book featuring my cat, Carmen (a.k.a the Mogget) looking her usual pudgy and bored.

One of my 2013 Goals and Getonits was to make some art projects. I used a combination of digital media and good, old-fashioned scissors and glue to make the books. The stickers were hand drawn with pencil and ink. Although I am pleased with how my first attempt at book making turned out, I must admit that the stickers are my favorite. It was so much fun turning the Mogget into a simple doodle. Take a peek!

 Book and stickers awaiting packaging.

Sticker trio.
Also, there will be some more new features on refeathered. Check back in on Monday!
